School Immunisations

School immunisations are delivered in school by the IntraHealth NHS School Immunisation Team.

The information below explains the different immunisations / vaccinations you can expect to be offered at secondary school and when these will take place. We’ve also included web links which provide more detailed information on each of the immunisations.

All year groups:

  • Flu Immunisation – this is offered to all pupils (Year 7-11) each year in October / November. It is usually a live nasal spray however, on occasion health conditions or allergies may mean pupils are given an injectable flu vaccination instead.

Parent / Carer Consent

Before each immunisation, the school will email parents / carers with a letter from the Immunisation Team. This letter will outline which immunisation is being offered, the date it will take place, and, importantly, will include a link to the online immunisation portal. All parents / carers are asked to complete the form on this portal to either consent or decline the vaccination.
